It depends on the tone in which this question is asked, it could be used as a statement of pride, change, hope, or love!. Or it could be used to divide, undermine, to judge, or hate!. I would prefer the measure of a man be the acts that honor those around him, which supersedes differences, and gets to the core of that which really matters "selflessness", in this one word so many things are satisfied, There are few "selfless" Presidents: Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln(also from Illinois), Wilson, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry S!. Truman, Dwight D!. Eisenhower, John F!. Kennedy, and Jimmy Carter(like Wilson Legislature crippled his intent), and hopefully my new President Elect Barrack Obama, who could possibly reach these "stars" in America's sky, that set the course for the rest to follow, he has a head start he defied impossible odds to reach the highest office in the free world, that being said I voted for McCain, because I saw these pre-qualities in him and his life, but the people have spoken, and my President is Barrack Obama, and as a citizen I will support him as much as I can(without forsaking my Lord in Heaven) so that he will have a chance for greatness, in our united support, that being said I will also share the burden if he fails too, that is what being American is all about, it is a marriage of peoples diversely, rich backrounds, and the duty we have to one another!. For richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, in life and in death, united we stand under God, and divided we fall, either way we all do it together!. May God richly bless this nation He has made, may it represent the very best that we are, I don't see an "African American" I see a man that has an ability of words that reminds me of Abraham Lincoln, not to mention President Lincoln came up with nothing to his name, just like President Obama, and hopefully in this spirit, we prosper from it!. also , with no disrespect for our current President, hope this nation can recover from this "civil crisis", and hope in our darkest hour we have just what God has intended for us, a beacon of light and hope, for us to follow!.
