Question: If someone "bumper bumped" your car !.!.!.!?
in a parking lot and just left their car parked there kissing your bumper and you came out to your car and saw it - what would you do!?
In my case is was less of a kiss and more of a firm thrust!. And it was less of a car and more of my brand new baby (2008 Sonata - I know, lame)!.
What did I do!? After I put my crow bar away - deciding not to use it on their car or their face - and wrote them a note saying, "Next time you hit a car causing damage or not you should leave a note - INCONSIDERATE!." (For the record my license plate was a bit bent!.)

write down the other person's license number
leave them the note I typed for you above
and show my dad the bent license plate
cuz i have no clue bout cars + insurance

Whatever!. People have hit my bumper before while driving and while parked and I just let it slide!. If there's no substantial damage then why make a big deal!? It's just a bumper!.
Anyways, maybe the guy was European!? In Europe a lot of people just park that way, and we think it's crazy, but they just pull straight up to the bumper and leave it there!. Especially with bigger cars!.

Personally!.!.!. I keep a disposable camera in my glove box for just such an occasion!. I would have photgraphed the scene making sure to get both the cars and the offending car's plate number in at least one of the photos!. Promptly reporting them to the police and DMV!.
If the incident had happened at a mall or shopping center equipped with security cameras, I also would have gone to mall security and asked if they could find the accident on their video (it is a crime not to leave a note, here in CA, where I am) so I would hope mall security would be cooperative!. also, this would help in case the other party were to accuse you of being the one doing the damage to their car!.
