How can i start a radio channel.give me full detail?

i want to start a new fm channel.i want a full detail of how 2 start radio channel.From where i have to take permission?
and estimated amount for opening fm channel.

First, of all you're going to need a truckload of money because equipment, licensing, ascap/bmi fees (these are fees you'll have to pay to play music on your station) are insanely expensive. I'm going to guess you'll need at least 2-5 million just to get started with this stuff. (example: a brand new control board could run you about $35,000...a decent microphone will probably cost you at least 700 bucks a piece)

Second, you're going to have to get permission from the FCC (assuming you're in the US)....and this can take a long time, because you need figure out how powerful your station will be, what other frequencies are in use in that are, you'll need call letters, and a ton of other paperwork to fill out and submit..etc etc (c'mon it's the federal government..you think they'll be quick about!?)

Third, you'll need a tower, and a tower location, station location, on-air staff, sales staff, management, and one hell of an engineer to fix your stuff if your station ever gets struck by lightning.

Then you'll have to do some research to find the best demographic for your area...what your listeners are going to want to hear....the one thing I learned when at radio school is you can't just play the stuff you like....there's a good chance that most people won't like it and won't listen....which means low ratings, which in turn means little sales, and all that equals low revenue.

You'll also need to find some good contacts in the record industry (which gets tougher all the time), get in contact with good concert promoters, etc etc.

After all is said and done....I'd give a conservative guesstimate at around 5-7 million dollars.

This is just a watered down version of everything you'd need....there are so many little components, electrical things, software programs that you'll need as well that I can't possibly list them all.
