Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically increased by a recent ruling and are due to go into effect on July 15 (retroactive to Jan 1, 2006!). If the increased rates remain unchanged, the majority of webcasters will go bankrupt and silent on this date. Internet radio needs your help
music on the web is dieing
save it now

My site is participating in this.
The REAL problem stems from corporate greed (the radio companies) wanting every cent that they can possibly get. Yet at the same time, terrestrial radio isn't providing the listener anything exciting on radio, which is why radio sounds like crap and people are turning to Internet webcasters (I am into dance music so this is where I go since I have little choice) since they cover music that radio DOESN'T touch and are done by fans who aren't earning ONE PENNY doing this.
If terrestrial radio wants to save themselves, they have to create INNOVATIVE formats that people will WANT to tune in (dance, old skool hip-hop, gay radio, etc.) To have 5 stations with different variations of the same format is crap...whether you call it "Jack", "Pete", "Movin", "Fresh".
