Will the Sirius and Xm Satelite radio merger hurt the consumer?

I know a couple people who work at XM and they think ( and so do i ) that overall it will be better. It will be like Cable, pick what you want, music, talk, sports etc.. so for the consumer it will probably be the best thing that happened to you! However a program director there said there job is somewhat at risk due to the fact once they all go together there will be too many workers and not enough to do. It will take time for the process. FCC Is holding them back as of right now. Hopefuly by spring 2008 everything will be done.. All i wonder now is what will they name the company?
