Just like we have tv guides on paper, cable tv , Is there such a thing as a &quo!

Question:

Just like we have tv guides on paper, cable tv , Is there such a thing as a "radio guide"?

I live in New York City. I would like to have access to a radio guide. How can I know what radio programs are over the air throughout the day besides turning and listening?

Answers: There's a bunch of them - but most are online. I'm sure the NY Papers have a Sunday listing of some sort, and the tabloids may cover some radio events.

But as radio and newspapers increasingly compete for the same ad dollars, the papers have been reticent to promote radio at all. Even a huge event that brings in tons of money for charity will make the paper as sponsored "by a local radio station." They won't even mention the call letters much any more.

Anyway - in-house politics aside - here'a a bunch of websites that will set you on track.

You can also go to www.radio-info.com and look in the ratings section to see how your favorite station is doing.
-a guy named duh Source(s):
www.nyradioguide.com/
www.radio-locator.com
wwww.radio.real.com/
www.windowsmedia.com/Mediaguid...
www.radio-station-directory.co... Here in U.K. we have Listings in Our T.v.Magazines.
I mainly listen to talk sport at night anyway, so know who is on.
You might also try their webs sites, some do have whats comming on next ect Some digital boxes E.G. sky or freeview give out listing for the week.....

I found this site for you, maybe you could add it to your favorites ect. hope it helps. Some newspapers have radio listings, but they mainly focus on live sports programming.

You can get program listings on the radio station's website. Because radio in the US doesn't have programs per se like they do in the UK or like we did years ago in the US, I find the radio guides have disappeared (actually TV guides are starting to disappear also)

But as someone said, it's to the point that you almost have to look up every radio station's website for information. I'll bet one of the NY newspapers has info inside... but it is harder nowadays with how radio is changing. You could find some good information online...

Try this website to get you started:

http://www.nyradioguide.com/calllist.htm...

It lists the call letters, frequency, and format... it even has a section for the Program Guide which is what you want!! Have fun.
