Question:

For people in the UK, need help finding info on a radio program and it's theme music.?

I am from the United States but lived in England from 1994-1999. While there I vaguely remember a radio program that had a title such as "Love Stories" or "Love Songs" or something like that. What I remember most about the program (or should I write programme?) was that people would either send in letters to be read on air, or else call in and deliver their own personal message, and while reading the letters or delivering the on-air message, in the background would play this soft, gentle, soothing musical piece. I would like to find out what this radio show was called exactly and if possible, find out what that background music was called and somehow either buy or download it. That music was so soothing and I'd love to be able to listen to it whenever I need to relax. Thanks.

Unfortunately for everyone, that is not it. I downloaded and listened to the song and that is definitely not the song. The song I am looking for was more of an easy-listening/light jazz format. Also, the show ended in 1993, one year before I moved to England, so that show could definitely not have been it since it had already ended by the time I moved there. I remember listening to this show in 1995-1996.

The segment was called Our Tune and it told stories of couples around the country.

The theme for Our Tune was Franco Zefferelli’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Yes, that sounds like Our Tune, on Simon Bates' Radio 1 show. He left the station in 1993, and worked on various stations such as LBC, Atlantic 252 and Classic Gold Fm, before joining Classic Fm, where he works to this day. He also presents Our Tune At Noon, Mon - Fridays, which is syndicated across various commercial stations in the UK.
