Is their any radio stations other than Sattelite that will play the new Springst!

Question:

Is their any radio stations other than Sattelite that will play the new Springsteen album?

If the Police or Clapton put out an album today it would be hard to find airplay.

Answers: I'm not sure that's true. A major artist/group with previously proven hits, that releases a new album is going to find airplay in differing degrees. College radio will probably play the entire CD, commercial classic rock stations "Where it doesn't have to be old to be classic!" will play selected cuts. Some other formatted stations will probably find one song (probably with help from the label), call it a hit and start playing one song from the album.

And, as you mentioned, XM & Sirius will be on it.
-a guy named duh I agree with Duh... It depends upon the stations and what kind of material they want on the playlist.

Most classic rock stations won't play anything after a certain point. That way they don't have to worry about it not registering with listeners. Besides, some artists change their sound since they had a hit say 20 years ago like Bruce Hornsby.

Most new rock will not play older artists as the sound isn't as hard as say most new rock of today.

There are stations that are called Heritage rockers in some circles. These are stations that play the classics but play newer material that would appeal to their listeners.

These are who are mainly playing the new Springsteen song..as welll as new Rush, Scorpions,Eagles (even though their song is aimed at A/C and Country due to it's sound) and Ozzy Osbourne (even though Ozzy does have a huge following by younger people with him showing up on stations that normally wouldn't play a older rocker, but you'll never hear him on Alt Rock stations like most new rock today)
