Who do radio broadcasters work with to create their program?!

Question:

Who do radio broadcasters work with to create their program?

Answers: In AM radio there's usually 2-4 people involved (depending on the # of hosts) Producer, operator, news dude , and host. The producer usually fishes the internet for audio from the previous day's events while the host scours news sites like drudge report and moveon.org . . .

In FM radio Theres more people, hosts, interns, producer, operator, There are radio-focused sites w/ the days headlines and interesting facts, I used to use e! online, the onion, and local news links. The music is typically pre-programmed by a PD. Plus you'd be amazed from all the stuff listeners send in.

Each company generally has its own line of computer programs and editing gear . . . At clear channel we use nexgen/newsgen and voxpro/cool edit for production. Also some companies will have an interior web site w/ info and points of interest . . . I normally use Sound Forge. Many use programs such as Adobe Audition (it's a multitrack editing program.) For my newscasts, I use a program called WaveCart to keep track of all the little audio cuts that go with my stories (we call them readers usually.)

Generally, I create my program all on my own. Usually, a producer or board-op will help others with theirs by doing all the technical items needed. I use Adobe Audition and NexGen/Prophet for recording. I do all of my research, writing and editing. It doesn't feel right if I don't.

For parts of the program that require live reads for sponsors, I sight-edit as I go to keep it fresh, trying a different angle each time.

Mostly, I am my own producer though there is a voice guy out of state for some intro/outro bits. I try to keep the sound effects to a minimum to concentrate on the music and delivering a concise delivery to the listeners.
