I wanna get an XM or Sirius satelitte radio system?!

Question: someone PLEASE tell me which is better! I know Howard Stern is on Sirius...

Also, which radio should I get? its mostly for in-car use, but it would be nice to get one that I can play in the house

I personally Like XM better but if your going for Howard, I respect that.

Anyway, you will need a radio, you need to choose weather or not you want a portable radio, or a plug in play radio. The best plug and play radio out right now is the Sportster 4 for $149.99 ( http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/servlet/... )
If your looking for a portable radio where you can take it anywhere and get live signal on the go I recommend the Stiletto there are 2 different Stilettos. One has a mp3 player feature and a feature where you can listen to sirius online when you can't get a signal, that is the Stiletto 100 I highly recomend that... $199.99 ( http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/servlet/... )
The Stiletto S10 is a lower model with out the features I listed above.

All plug and play radios come with a car kit, which allows you to listen in the car. The Portable Unit ( stiletto ) doesn't not come with a car kit, you will have to buy that.

All Sirius radios can work in the car and in the house. They can work in the house by getting a home kit where you can plug them into a stearo you already own. There are also boomboxes available as well. The
SOLOIST Universal Sound System works for portable and plug and play radios, its small and provides great sound $149.99 http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/servlet/...
if you want a radio just made for a plug and play radio the Plug & Play Universal Boombox for $99.99 is the best deal. The Sound Is AMAZING and has a built in sub woofer. ( http://shop.sirius.com/edealinv/servlet/...

If you wish to buy from Sirius.com and you know you want a boom box they offer radio packages which do save money for all radio information and pricing go to http://shop.sirius.com/ .

You don't have to buy Sirius Radios online. you can pick one up at Bestbuy, Circuit City, and radio shack. I recommend those stores because stores like Walmart, target,etc.. don't carry everything you may need.
There are cheaper radios out then the ones I mentioned. And again all radios will work in the car and in the house, and you won't have to pay extra. When you become a subscriber you can also listen online for free with your account.
I like Sirius better. I've had it for 2 years now with no regrets.

As far as using it in your house, all you need to do is buy a seperate docking station. Make sure the antenna is in a good place with a large view of the sky so reception is good.
I have a Sirius in my vehicle and it works great, I would recommend it to you.
I've had XM radio for two years, and it's worked great for me. You can have a docking station put into your vehicle so that you can transfer the module from your car to your house.
Well, the cool (radio) man pretty much covered it as far as hardware.

As far as which one is better, they are both very good, but different. The talk and news are somewhat similar. The sports are different though. Sirius has the NFL and NBA, and college sports coverage for a list of "popular" college teams. XM has Major League Baseball, and several college conference affiliations.

As far as the music, Sirius's approach is to play the biggest hits from a particular genre on its channels. XM plays larger playlists with more obscure songs mixed in with the hits. You can try the music channels on each one online for 3 days. To do this, go to sirius.com and xmradio.com.
My brother-in-law and I carpool to work together -- rotating weeks.

He has XM, and I have Sirius.

It depends on what you like to listen to.

For example, different sports are on each service.

I like the NFL, and Sirius has the NFL Network.

If you're a conservative, Sirius has an awesome lineup on the Sirius Patriot Channel... Bill Bennett, Mike Church, Andrew Wilkow, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and Michael Reagan run from morning until evening. (They have a "Left" channel, too. But as a conservative, I'm not interested in it.)

My brother-in-law seemed on several occassions surprised that Sirius had some of the channels I tell him it has, like the Grateful Dead Channel, the Bruce Springsteen, and other channels devoted to specific artists.

They've agreed to a merger (pending approval) that should be completed next year some time, so in the end it may not matter which one you end up going with.

I'd say check out their web-sites for their channel lineups, and other programming, and then make your best choice.
