I'd agree with the others about visiting. You could try to call or email the Music Director, Romeo or Program Director, Sharon Dastur and ask for a tour, but chances they will say no, if they even answer you back at all. Maybe you could try getting a tour of a station in your area? You might have better luck than Z100.

Z100 is only 6000 watts and it's tough enough to receive the signal when you are near NYC. So getting it in western NY isn't going to happen, sorry. A bigger antenna won't help either. Lucky for you they stream on the internet.

Z100 is the reason I got into radio, I would listen to it as a kid and want to do what they did on air. It's cool that you are 15 and still interested in a radio station. Most kids your age are into Ipods or internet radio and never listen to FM.
Radio stations, especially big, popular ones like Z-100 don't encourage individuals to visit unless invited.

Occasionally a group will come through on a tour. And there are celebrities around on occasion to be interviewed. But it's a working business and people are trying to do their jobs. It's not a zoo - well maybe it is, try again... it's not an exhibit ;<)

Bigger antenna, maybe. Depends on how big and where you are. But you can get them online wherever you are.
-a guy named duh
Let me break it up for you...

Step 0 - let people know where the z100 is...there are many z-100s in the US.. But I figure you are talking about WHTZ z-100.3 New York City

Number 1 - No except authorized people (by the radio station) can go into the studio as they don't want disruptions that can go over the air etc. Some radio stations will give a partial guided tour if asked nicely but others won't. It all depends upon management. But usually the answer is a no.

number 2- You could hear z100 farther if your antenna is on a 300 foot tower, but from a car.. a signal booster may get you a few miles but not that far outside the normal range of the station.... Only way to hear it in West Ny is streaming it from a phone or computer and that would be outragious costs

Number 3- check the map for coverage

Basically anything past purple is noisy
