Analogue radio switch off?!
Question: As a serious music listener i use a manually tuned capacitor wireless & half-wave aerial to listen to FM stereo broadcasts....recognizing that digital is only an approximation of the analogue signal
whilst i recognize the benefits to television...i cannot see why we serious music lovers should have to put up with this substantial loss in fidelity, so that the BBC/Government can line their back -pockets
I should welcome your candid views on this

Dr. John you sure do make me work for these answers,,,I'm use to things like "what's your favorite ice cream?" so this is nice, hard but nice,,,I myself love music also,,I'm doing some research on this (analogue radio switch business) I haven't heard very much about it well actually nothing about it,,but I just had to tell you that your questions are nice I love learning knew things and being that I'm home recovering from surgery bored out of my mind; ****so your good brain food, I'm starting to think your a doctor of some quantum physicists =)
We face this in the US, too. Though most people don't know about the upcoming mandatory switch to digital.
There will be converters for purists like yourself. And, yes, you'll have to spend some money to keep yourself somewhat analog - but you may find it worth the money. Good luck.

There are no plans to turn off analogue radio any time in the foreseeable future.
* Go and see the OFCOM site and find out for yourself if you for some reason don't believe me.........

I wasn't saying it will NEVER happen, just not for the time being.
Analogue radio will be with us for ages yet, don't worry.

Surely the record deck is more important being the first component in the chain (garbage in, garbage out).
