Which type antenna is best for using with a scanner?!

Question: i have a 0-1300mhz scanner and would like to get a good all round antenna that receives all frequencys in and includin 0mhz-1300mhz,
i am looking a two different antenna's the first is a "Scan King SE1500" which is a stick type antenna that covers 0 - 1500MHz coverage and the other is a "SKYSCAN DXV1300" which is the discone type and covers 25-1300 which one of these would be best?
or which type in general is the best all band performer?
thank you

Problem with those antennas is that they are antennas trying to compromise and get you maximum usable frequency spread from a small antenna.

I'm like the rest and recommend the bigger Skyscan DXV1300 (I googled each antenna.. the first has better looks but the discone is bigger and I find with them are real good at reception from my experience)

Nothing will really give you a good reception of the HF band short of an antenna made for HF such as a homemade dipole. Most of my friends actually have multiple scanners and homemade beams cut for the frequency of what they are looking for (a lot of the police in my area in the US are on 800MHZ) .. but most run the discone for all around listening above 30 MHZ and will run a seperate antenna for HF

I know this doesn't help, but hopefully gives some ideas.

Either is probably fine, I prefer the discone type. Just make sure you can get it in the air.

I agree with the first answer..
A discone is the best!
