Radio demo..........HELP?!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if they came to you to make the demo, shouldn't you already know how to make a demo?
Now, to answer your question, The station demo should be exactly that...... "A demo of the overall station" You should have short snip-it's from each program on the station. In-between those cuts you should place station jingles, or liners to keep an overall flow to the project. Most of all, you want to make sure that your edits are all seamless as possible. You will want smooth transitions between all of the elements on the tape. You want to lead off the tape with your better material to grab peoples attention right off the bat!
Don't go overboard on sound FX or other extra sound elements, they just detract from what you are trying to promote.

i say it should be no longer than 3 minutes. stations want to hear how you sound. how you can talk out of and into another song. usually hitting the post. meaning talking up the song just before the vocals. depending on the radio's format, make sure you sound like you know that format. just a little advice. you probably love radio and music. and if you get in, it will get in your blood. but if your looking for good money, get a second job. good luck
