It is good that Imus is returning, he should of never been removed.
Imus is an "equal opportunity offender". He's been doing that sort of schtick for YEARS on all cultures and because he gets on EVERYONE, no one had really made a big deal out of it until the Rutgers comment.
I'm not a fan of Imus mind you, I'm not into his "schmoozing" with political media and all or his "ranch". But there is a fan base that likes him.
Messed up thing, Imus makes the comment...gets $20 million from his former employer..and gets a NEW gig, replacing a higher rated show out of Curtis Sliwa and Ron Kuby...with KUBY getting the door! Kuby never said anything racial and in a backhanded way...HE is the one hurt by this.
He is keeping it real, yo.
Yes it was a big deal. But not everyone should be fired for their comments. I think he should have been fined and subject to any (if even possible to prove) legal action by the girls, but never removed.
i never was mad at him. maybe i unerstand what he said. people say things werse then that everyday on tv and radio. people make to much out of things these days. who realy gives a sh---
What he said was extremely unprofessional and promoted racially offensive jokes which is not what we need in this world! I never liked Imus, not my style. I don't care if he comes back as long as he doesn't say things like that again!
Never really saw why people liked him to begin with. If I were Imus, I would retire, and let people forget about me. Companies have the right to hire him, but I wouldn't sponsor him if I were an advertiser. It's one thing to pick on a celebrity, but another to make derogatory comments toward a college athlete(s) who weren't in the spotlight to begin with.
Never listened to him before his latest problems, won't be listening to him now, either. All that stuff is just an act. It gets his name in the media, gets him listeners and makes him money - he's not stupid. Those of us that believe his junk are.
