More details would help.....like the location of where your home depot is. They may have digital music to playing a local radio station.
it's probably private (most are), unless you're hearing a display radio (like inside electronic departments of target or wal-mart)...this is so you don't hear a commercial for circuit city inside best buy, etc.
Most use a dedicated Sat feed or delivery of programming by internet or CD on loop.
That way they are assured no worries about competition messages can come thru and make you want to shop elsewhere (I worked for a major box store that made radios for employees (I was in a area that not too many customers would visit)..for the fact that the radio may influence their purchase
