The plan is to kill off FM and sell the band - but it will be a much slower process than with TV. The AM bands (SW, MW & LW) will stay because they operate over much longer distances and they could only be cleared by international agreement.

the analog transmitters will be shut down in time
much like they are doing currently with television
it will stop the pirate radio stations interfering with stations I like to hear.. so thats the good side.
Goodman boom box that plays CD`s plus having
a Dab radio that lets you know who and what playing
on the LCD screen cost me ￡30 new,so no complaints
about DAB from me.
