I personally run one can't remember the name of it to save my life right now, but is a top coil loaded antenna that looks like the tuneable Firesticks but uses a common 8 penny nail on top.. kind on the ugly, but kicks out hot and better than most antennas.
I've used 8 foot francis with the same success as that top loaded antenna I talked about..
But here is the best idea for picking antennas

What's best for me may not be good enough for u. Go by what u like.
full size firesticks 9ft 3 inches apart. i have a steppir beam but bit big for a Astra.
get a pair of co phased 5/8wave .with a large dia loading coil most of your rf power is lost as heat in small tightly wound
coils
do your homework first you have the best tool the web.
you walk in to a shop selling cb kit all they wont is your money .
and if you dont need a pair of antenners just get a wilson 1000 rated better than a k40
try the moonracker Kitti they are the best there is no coil on them so you get no loss in RF power xxx
