Well, you're in the wrong category, but it's an ok question and has a lot to do with how radio salespeople work. So I'll make a radio question out of it.
We always taught our people (and I do this still) to:
Plan your work.
Work your plan.
-a guy named duh
work day - i plan - otherwise i go with the flow
go with the flow, once I've planned the rest of it.
Nothing much to plan these days. Just going with the flow for now...
Work day - I plan, I have to otherwise acheive nothing.
At home - just do what the missus tells me.
if you are planning how to move ahead you are improvising and being spontaneous.
If you are going with the flow you are in a "routine" and probably stuck in freeway traffic.
Just go with the flow! Always works 4 me!

Hi there.
I plan as much as I can, preferring to be on my way home at 18:30 at the latest to catch the Radio 4 comedy show and The Archers.
I got sick of pop stations years ago!
