Not sure, its probably that he has become so popular, he can more or less dictate what he wants to the BBC as his radio figures are so high. This means he can make little pranks etc, that some people so find quite annoying and so on. I was listening this morning, and there was something about shouting "Mika" or something at people. I have no problem with him.

Well, assuming you're talking about the fat cracker who has a radio show, I'd say it's because society as a whole is trained to love and appreciate beautiful people and hold them in high esteem, so everyone subconsciously hates to see a fat ugly person succeed.

I wouldn't go as far as hate, however I would say that to poke fun at others and get laughs at others expense is funny for a while, but over time the format becomes dull and same-ish. I no longer listen to him, its the same program on a different day.

Perhaps the people who do are from the age of, say, 25 upward, as his vacuousness is bang on for young people.
I love him and I'm 34, listen to his show every morning. I think the problem is not everyone gets his sense of humour and most of the time he's putting an act on for the radio and most things he says are ironic and tonuge in cheek but some people take him literally. These people should chill out and not take life sooo seriously :)!
For me its his voice, it annoys me for no real reason. If I hear his voice on the radio I turn it straight over.
But then I don;t suppose he really cares if some people don't like him, I think he is like marmite you either like him or not.
