Will a DAB Radio bought in the UK work in Italy - does Italy have DAB Channels?!

Check out www.worlddab.org - it tells you what system every country in the world is using (if it has Digital Radio.) When you get to the home page, click on DAB Worldwide and then Country Profile. Here is the page of Italy: http://www.worlddab.org/country_profile.... They are using L-Band so a UK Digital Radio won't work in Italy.
Greece (http://www.worlddab.org/country_profile.... are currently testing Band III so maybe soon a UK digital radio will work in Greece. Germany may work, but I'm not sure.

Yes, there are areas of Italy that have DAB coverage. However it is not a national network (similar to BBC National DAB or Digital one). Check the DAB radio specifications for the radio you have. The UK DAB services are all broadcast in a range of frequencies known as 'Band 3'. Italy is still testing/trialing DAB services and in some cases trying DAB+. DAB+ is not compatible with current DAB radios sold in the UK, although a number of newer sets provide an upgrade ability.
European DAB doesn't use the same band as UK DAB. You can get multi-band DAB radios, so if you do plan on travelling with it, check. There's a DAB radio group in Yahoo Groups which is very good for advice on DAB issues.

no a standard UK dab will not pick up the Italian station,what you need is multi world dab radio then not only will it pick up Italian station you will be able to travel the globe and always pick up the dab stations no matter where you are
