Has anyone seen the website The Real KFI?!

Question: I just found it yesterday, and was wondering if anyone else has heard about what happened with John Ziegler. In the website it presents his side of the story, which pretty much destroys the character of John and Ken. I was wondering if anyone knew the other side of the story. I was just wondering.

I just looked at the website, that really is interesting. I didn't know John Ziegler wasn't at KFI anymore, I remember I wasn't happy when he replaced Phil Hendrie, but I digress. I would like to know the whole story too because John & Ken are the most anti-illegal immigration people on the radio, and Ziegler says otherwise. The clip with Bill Handel freaking out on that morning show and dropping 'f-bombs' is really interesting. Some crazy things are going on at KFI, I would love to see how they unfold.

Seen it. If you want a little piece of radio history, select all and copy/paste into a word or HTML doc. It may be worth money some day.

If Clear Channel wasn't up to it's thighs in alligators, this site would have been long gone. To take it in perspective, KFI is the number three station in the number two market in the country - on AM! (There are some qualifiers in there that radio folks will understand, but we don't have yhe time or space for them here). That is an incredible achievement.

John Z is venting in public and, though it may have made him feel better, he should have obeyed "The 'Ol 24-Hour Rule." But since he obviously didn't, I'll just put it down to dozens of rants I've seen and heard over the years by disgruntled former employees. Being ego-maniacal radio personalities, some individuals in our business are compelled to "tell their side.." or "air it out."

In essence, he takes a few isolated incidents and makes them his reason for "taking the high road," which led to his ouster. Gag me with a Sennheiser.

It's sad. Because no one cares. OK, well, you do. But other than you and John and a handfull (literally) of others, no one cares. He was there. Now he's not.

No one cares who's gay and who's straight. Who got screwed and who didn't. Phil Hendrie's a jerk? Hell, everyone knows that.

He was treated unfairly by another disgruntled jock? Ho Hum - happens every day (literally). IT JUST DOESN"T MATTER.

Did I mention, In the grand scheme of things, with radio down the tubes, in one of its worst years ever, taking flack from satellite, the internet and iPods - it just doesn't matter?

I would suspect the site won't last much longer, CC's lawyers will bring pressure and poof! there it will go.

But CC is trying to close a very big deal right now (and only being offered 75% of what they thought they were worth - whoops!) and probably doesn't need the agita, nor want to start anything that might get in the way of that deal nor bring attention to potential problems. And, at its most basic, they don't have time to deal with a harmless PO'd ex-jock. They are a dime a dozen. I know - I wuz one ;<)

John Z might be right, he might even be a really nice guy who got screwed - but did I mention it doesn't matter? Oh, ok. Well, let me just add: no one cares. Oh, said that too, eh.

Well there ya go, Dime a dozen - what? Oh, sorreeee.
