Do you guys think alot of radio djs are overrated?!
Question: its too bad to see it that way but they insult people based on thier wieght and say crude things and im talkin about people like don imus hes said bad things
and the other one woman who wanted to win something and she overdosed on water because they dared her

and on religious radios alot of them talk about politics and throws judgements about condemning people

YES!!
i think they are completely overrated, especially morning shows. they have nothing to talk about, play rubbish songs and you wind up spending most of the time listening to crappy ads.
ipods and cds are the way to go.
About the only people that don't think that most jocks are overrated are the jocks themselves.
I don't think that many advertisers would say that they are bad or they would pull their advertising off the station. It has always been about ratings and as long as they aren't doing anything illegal, it's fine.
It's seems that you're concerned, but if you really have a problem with jocks belittling people, you should just change the station and don't listen to it.
I am certainly not a fan of religious programming. Since this was posted on the Radio section of Yahoo Answers!, I say that I don't believe the FCC was acting in the best interest of the public when they approved most of the LPFM applications to religious organizations. LPFMs are suppose to go to non-profits or educational entities. I don't see personally how religious groups fall into any of these.
