Do you think radio1 should play more old music?!
Question: not like 80's but i think they should have a kiss100 style to things.
they should play mostly new music but sometimes bring back an old school track. any1 agree?

Well it depends on what show it is. I wudnt do it for the morning show or the drivehome show....but maybe they shud like have a show where they just play old tunes requested by the listeners.....
But i've got a feeling that aint ever gna happen lool
yeah they should I have stopped listening to radio one now cos it is just way too repetitive, its like they just play the top 15 songs in the charts over and over again all day long, I have began listening to my local radio station TFM! its north east radio and I love it becuase they play a bigger range of songs old and new.
If you want old music buy some tapes. Or try Radio 2,3,4 all old music.
urrrm, they do play the occaisional old skool track.
But it does seem like I hear H20 & Basshunter more than I would like.
no man radio 1 rocks. its different from other radio stations, the producers allow for the DJ to adapt their own styles, thats what makes it so good......CHRIS MOYLES IS GOD!!!!!
Radio 1 is for all Modern types of Music - it specialises in discovering some good Unsigned talent too - for a prime example The Ting Tings.
If you want older music or different styles the BBC have quite a few stations to cater for you - you could just try local Radio

I switched to internet radio. You can find the style you like there without have corporate radio and record companies controling the 25 songs they play on each station. I like standards. There are no stations on the air here in LA that play them because the corporations can't make enough money on them. The internet allows a mix of music that doesn't limit the number of different songs played. So I found www.MartiniIntheMorning.com that plays a mix of old standards and mixes in standards performed by new artists.
is it me or have they started doing that more often, playing music from a couple of years ago. its not like it was last year when umbrella went round and round 5 times a day
yes at different times to suit all the listens it as, it may even pull in more listens

radio 1 should just play good tunes that all that matters. usa does not play old music on their station so people that like it and have internet switch to internet radio and find radio 1 haha uk rules.

No i dont because nearly every english radio station like heart, magic and them lot nd sometimes kiss they put on old music and radio one is sort of the well known radio station that plays up to date music and i like it that way. So no! no! no!

I agree with every1 else. Listen to a different station, if you want to hear old songs, such as your local station perhaps. Mine play stuff from about the 70s onwards. Or, play a CD of old songs.
Noooooooooooo...I admit during the daytime it can get a bit repetitive but during the night when they have specialist programming it's really mixed...
If you want old and new mixed up together try Radio 2.
Their music policy is OK but they should bring back the Radio 1 Roadshow. I live on the coast and it was a great excuse to take the day off work and go drinking all day.
I like a bit of a mix, Radio1 is my prefered station. I can't stand commercial stations.
I like the Bank Holiday Radio1 days when you can request anything from theme tunes to chart and Fern and Reggies request show thats when you get variety.
EVERYBODY KNOWS RADIO 2 plays some good music. Radio 1 is more for younger people who like young music, just like Radio 1 was long ago.
yeah maybe sometimes play some old music but chris moyles is just too funny to even care about music
