XM Radio commercials?!

Question: Are there any XM subscribers out there who are aggravated with the commercials? If I'm paying 14 dollars a month, I don't want to have to listen to commercials!! Does anyone know why they play so many commercials?

Nearly all of the music channels are commercial-free. However, in the beginning, XM made a deal with the devil (Clear Channel) and gave CC control over four of XM's radio stations. Now, these four stations (Kiss, Mix, Sunny, and Nashville) do have some commercials on them. But XM created "clone channels" to replace them. So instead listen to HitList, Flight 26, The Blend, and US Country.

If you are talking about news and sports, they have to put some commercials on them. If you are listening to a syndicated program like CNN, ESPNRadio, or a baseball game, there are commercial breaks when those stations are broadcast on other mediums besides XM. So what else can XM do during those times?

Wow - I thought that's what you paid for with that - no commercials!!
So, you're saying I may as well stick with free radio since they play commercials anyway.....

I don't mind them so much as they seem to just be for other XM programming, I don't think I've ever heard one for an outside product. I pay for music and programming that I wouldn't hear on terrestrial radio, but if I was just paying to not hear commercails and only listened to something like a top 40 station it'd probably piss me off though.

i wouldnt worry 2 much, xm was just bought by sirius.
it wont be long before half of your shows and stations are replaced by the sirius ones, thay have not decided on what to keep and what to not keep.

You're probably listening to talk, comedy or programs from syndicated programming - not original XM music channels which are generally commercial free (unless you consider promotional announcements for other channels to be commercials). Stick with the XM originals and you'll be happier.
