What FCC (US) license do I apply for to go on-air in a radio station.?!
Question: What FCC (US) license do I apply for to go on-air in a radio station!.!?
I did this a LOOOONG time ago in 1985 but have since lost that license!. I would like to get a new FCC license to use as an on air personality (aka: DJ) at a radio station!.
Can someone give me the direct link and the type of license I would need on the fcc!.gov website!? Just saying fcc!.gov won't get you the 10 points; I need the direct link and the actual license I have to apply for (since there are so many different license types)

As Duh said, It's used to be a 3rd class, but the FCC changed the rules since then and relaxed them to the point anyone going on air doesn't need a license!. Only the station owner and if it's not the station owner, anyone repairing the transmitter only!.!.!.
Pretty much the third was needed as back in the day you were reading the meters and calling the tech if it went way out of specs!.!.!. but with deregulation and the transmitter having computers and such to constantly monitor and adjust itself now!.!. the license isn't needed!.

No need just to jock, Tony!. I answered a similar question recently and was promptly corrected by another very knowledgeable member!. I thought you still had to have a third!. Nope!.
It was recent, a quick search of YA questions should bring it up!.
