Question: How much "bandwidth" does streaming internet radio take!?
hi -- I would like to know how much & how bandwidth intensive itunes radio stations would use !.!.!. the station i tune into is raunchy rhythms radio ( A house chanel) pulling @120 kbs per sec!.!.

It's a simple calculation:

There are 8 bits in a Byte, so
120 kb = 120 / 8 kB = 15 kB

That means you're using 15 kilo Bytes per second!. Therefore:
15 kB * 60 * 60 = 54000 kilo Bytes per hour

Divide that by 1000 (or 1024 if you wanna be precise)
52!.7 MB every hour!.

You can take it from here!. Think about how many hours a day you'd like to stream your favourite station, and how many days a week!.!.!. etc!. etc!.
With most online radio stations (with the average 96kbps or 128kbps bitrate) you're looking at around 2GB of downloaded data per week!. Which is why most IT departments either ban it or nicely ask you to refrain from streaming at your desk!

They can vary quite a bit from 32K to 128K!. Just look at these stations:
