Disk Jockeys in Scotland?!

Question: Disk Jockeys in Scotland!?
Hey!. Im only 15 and I'm from scotland and I'v been wondering how to become a Radio DJ!. So far I'v learned that the best way to start is through a Hospital Radio or something like that!. Other sources say that it's recomended to do courses that are available but I have looked everywhere and there are no courses in the area of scotland I live in!. Does anyone have any advice or can anyone tell me where I can start off!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Pick your favorite station and start hanging out (if they'll allow it)!. Late at night is best (though your age may prevent this)!. If the station sponsors events, go and introduce yourself!. Tell anyone connected with the station that you'd like to work there!.

Apply for an internship or other easy job that's low on the totem pole!. Make it clear you'll work free or cheap!. Then watch learn and listen!. One day someone will move on and you'll have a chance to move up!. Repeat as many times as necessary!.

You may have to start at a station that plays different programming than your ideal, but do it anyway - you're looking for experience and most stations operate the same regardless of what goes out over the air!.

Things are a little different in the UK than here in the US, but I'm sure some of this stuff is still valid!. If you are too young, study radio from what you hear!. Listen to all the elements, not just the music!. "Clock" the station: write down everything that happens in a one-hour period!. Do this until you're old enough to legally work!. You will be able to speak intelligently about the station and radio in general!. It will give you a leg-up on the others looking for the same job!. Study this board and others!.

Good Luck!
