Why is a TV show's video quality so much worse in syndication than when it i!

Question: Why is a TV show's video quality so much worse in syndication than when it initially airs!?
I'm watching the pilot episode of House which is now in syndication, and the video quality is awful!. This is a fairly new show, and the date on the pilot is 2004 - so we're not talking dramatic leaps in technology either (and I'm not talking about HD vs SD)!. It's airing on the same Fox station that I watched this past week's new episode, and the difference is day and night!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Your new show comes as a video feed!. The syndicated show may be forwarded on disc!. The disc is mainly a storage medium and not the best way to exhibit a product!. You might notice a movie you enjoyed in a theater looks a little different when you you buy the DVD!.

A transfer of information, video or audio, will cause a degree of degeneration!. The more times you copy or transfer the media the more degeneration there will be!. "House" looks good first run!. But if you live in a C or D market they won't be sending you the original to copy for syndication!. You're on your own!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Probably because the station you are watching ran tape on the pilot and are re-running it that way as opposed to purchasing the season on DVD!. If they were the station that had the original broadcast, that is!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
