I find younger people with money sometimes do forgo the radio for the no commercials of Xm and Ipod but for most people , we listen cause we love radio and like the cost!.

I have cd collections full of music but still listen to radio but usually I find small mom and pop stations as they play more selections than the big giant box stations in the big cities!.

I've listened to xm and sirius and you know what, On most stations, they repeat the music almost as often as broadcast radio!. and with rumors that Xm and sirius music channels are merging in November means even less choice!.

Don't have an iPod as I listen to the music I have already on my computer when I work and It's already costing me to keep up with new music casue I bore with the music already on the computer

So that's why I listen to radio!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I hardly listen to the radio, but for more reasons than just technology!.!.!.

1) music sucks nowadays, in my opinion!. I prefer music that generally isn't on the radio anymore
2) when you listen to the radio, you hear the same songs over and over again!. At least with something like a mp3 player or playing songs on your computer, you can control what you hear and get more diversity
3) the one kind of radio station I'd like to listen to (smooth jazz) doesn't exist in my area!. So, I would listen to the radio for that, but have to turn to other cities that have that kind of station and listen to them through the internet

I know people who still listen to the radio, and they are mainly people who drive on a regular basis!. I don't, and even if I did I would be hooking my mp3 player into my car!. Some of the people I know do that, but even they play the radio sometimes!. I don't think paying for radio is worth it, and no one I know thinks so, either!. Plus, I've done free trials with sites like XM Radio (or played it when it was part of AOL) and Sirius, and I think Gearbox kind of has a point!. So, people I know will just play the radio just out of habit and not wanting to drive in silence!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Surprise!

Though radio listening is off its highs because of the many new devices available, over 90% of the population of the US still listens at least once a day!. More listen at least once a week!. 98%+ of American homes have at least one radio!.

In other countries it varies, but in some lesser developed countries it's 100%!.

Over 98% of young people have a radio at home and 84% in their bedroom!.

Keep radio in mind for any natural disaster or other emergency when your cable is out and the newspaper isn't timely enough!.

Think that iPod is going to get you through a hurricane or earthquake safely!?

There's some great information about kids and radio at the below website!.
