Is Christian Shepherd on Lost really dead, and was it Ben who was in the casket at the funeral parlor?
In the season 3 finale Jack says (when asked if he'd been drinking), "You get my father down here. And if I'm more drunk than he is, you can fire me!" His body wasn't in the casket from season 1 (Though the body could have easily fallen out and been taken away by polar bears). Why would Jack mention his father to a new chief of surgery who most likely wouldn't have known Christian at all, since he would've been dead three years prior. Locke's father, Anthony Cooper, believed they were in Hell. Jack saying, "get my father down here..." Maybe they get off the island and end up in hell.
Also, I think it might have been Ben in the casket in the flash-forward. That would explain why Kate wouldn't want to go and why Jack was neither friend nor family. If Ben was really one of the good guys (lostpedia leads us to believe that the freigheters are the bad guys), then Jack would feel bad if them being forced off the island led to Ben's death.
I'd love to read anyone's thoughts.
Answers: Although, you do make a good point, but I think that the chief would probably be aware of Jack and his daddy problems. He said it because he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, when we all know that those two shouldn't be mixed. Haha
I think that it's Michael. Since you read off lostpedia (which, by the way, is awesome) you might happen to see the newspaper article. Someone on there said that they know what it reads. In it, they say the person was from New York and survived by one teenage son. This would explain a lot cause Michael is the only person knew how to get off the island, and that's why Jack attempted suicide. He wanted to go back and Michael could've led them back. And Kate felt betrayed by Michael's rampage in the 3rd season.
Thanks for the Lost question! jack is just going crazy and is talking like his dad is still alive even though he is dead, as for the caskett, i'm just not sure yet Is there even going to be another season of Lost???? I think Jack was just going a little crazy. He was drunk and high on pain pills. As for the coffin, who knows.
