It starts out with George and theother interns arriving at the hospital while Meredith, Izzie, Alex and Christina are talking about what they have been doing since Christina's wedding went cablewie. Christina has not heard form Burke. She went to Hawaii on her honeymoon. Meredith spent her time off alone having not seen Derek either. Izzie was all alone it seems as well and she was a bit upset about that fact having been left at the chappel waiting for George's reply to her sayin I love you in the locker room. That is when you realize that these are now residents and each of them is repeating the same speech Miranda gave them when they were interns. Meredith added the clause do not sleep with your attendings to her speech. They will be on for the next 36 hours. George is in Meredith's group. Lexie is in Christina's group. Alex seems to have his group in hand as does Christina. Izzie looks a little to soft with her group. In the end, Christina like Miranda forgets the give them rule #5 which is "When I move you move." However, when miranda said that her pager went off and Christina's did not.
Traumas form outside as the interns and residents step outside to see what is up. This is when Lexie talks to George about who is Meredith and how he has yet to tell Meredith that her half sister is now an intern. Miranda joins the scene and tells Meredtih to get these interns moving. She calls her Grey so Lexie finally sees her sister's face.
The Chief shows up and ask Miranda how things are going and she give him the cold shoulder telling him he should be asking Torres. The Chief wants to talk to her about his decision to make Callie cheif resident but she wants to hear nothing about it. He wants her to talk to him. Miranda asked him about his wife. He tells her that they are not yet living together but he is trying. And that is about all Miranda has to say to him.
Meanwhile Torres has a patient and has Karev and his team looking in on the patient that is an orthopedics patient. She bumps into George and talks about breakfast but that goes by real fast as he has to get back with Merideth. Callie gives some orders and Alex parks at his interns and tells them , "You heard her...Get it!"
Dereks bumps into Christina and tells her what she does not know as of yet that Burke resigned. he asked Derek to tell her.
Meredith and her group has a young pregnant woman with a missing right arm.Izzies group is there as well and Mark makes a pass at her. They are cleaning the woman up and Mark is wondering where the arm is so that he can reconnect it. Meredith has her people helping her look for the arm.
Christina has a head trauma that appears to be crashing so she sends Lexie after Derek.
Alex is looking for some guidance from Miranda who points out that he is no longer her problem, Callie is his boss now. Meredith comes by and wonders if anyone has seen her patient's arm. Again this is not Miranda's problem. Lexie is about to introduce herself to Meredith but that is when Derek comes up and starts to talk to Meredith. Surpise, Derek recognizes Lexie from the bar, Meredith is instantly jealos as being the last girl from the bar, and that is when they find out Lexie is Meredith's sister. Meredith is shocked and has to walk away. Lexie tell Derek that she was sent to find him for Christina.
Meanwhile, a little boy and his father come in with the missing arm and Izzie tells one of the interns to take it to Meredith right away. She sees a spot of blood on the boy and asks if he is bleeding. He says no but she is. Izzie is thinking there is another patient outside. She tells her team to grab everything and follow her. When she gets out to the boy's truck she find out that the she in question is a doe, they hit with the truck. The boy wants her to save the deer but Izzie is reluctant to do so, The Boy's father mentions skinning and eating the deer and Izzie will hear nothing of it. Suddenly, Izzie is committed to saving Bambi. Her interns think she is nuts but she wants to save the dear.
In the hospital, Callie is still riding Alex for not keeping up with things.
The chief has caught up with Miranda and insists on telling her that the reason he did not make her chief was to maker her a better surgeon and less of an administrator. It seemed to go over better.
Meanwhile, Bambi is getting worse and the father is irritating Izzie. She has the group charge the paddles when the deer goes a line and after one shock the deer jumps up on her hoofs and looks fine. Izzie is happy as is the boy.
Later you will hear the interns talking behind Izzie's back about the incident with Denny, and how they think she is nuts.
Inside the hospital Meredith is debreeding the arm so that Mark can reattach it. Alex, Izzie and Christina are a bit jealous but they all have other things on their min. Izzie has George on hers. She is glad to see he is back but unhappy to see the way he is acting.
Alex's patient winds up suffering with some distension but he can't seem to find Callie who is having to run all the residents and that is keeping her busy. He winds up finding Miranda instead.
Izzie cacthes up to George in a stairwell and tells him what a idiot he is in a round about way mentioning Bambi in the story. He thinks she is talking about him. She tells him she is talking about herself and how lonely she has been. She is Bambi. George has to go back to Meredith.
Meredith's, George and Mark are in on the reattachment surgery which gets complicated by the fact that the mother goes into labor during surgery leaving George to deliver while Meredith and Mark work on repairing the arm. The mother had lost her husband and thought her baby needed a parent with at least two good arms.
Christina and Derek work on the head trauma saving him.
Alex and Miranda wind up in surgery with Callie's patient removing change scissors from the patients stomach. Callie comes in upset and yelling at Karev, but Miranda chimes in and tells Callie that he saved the man's life by getting her involved. Callie says that itbetter be that way in his report. Richard shows up several coins later and wants to se if there is anything he can help with . He just wanted to see Bailey operating he said. By the end of the surgery a large sack of stuff came out of the man's stomach.
In a hallway on the gurneys the residents are together when George is there and they want to talk. Other interns want to join in but Alex shoes them off, No interns allowed. George goes with the interns much to the residents regret as the ask him to stay.
Lexie and George talk abit as he is complaing about how his life stinks. She points out he got to deliver a baby and she has a sister who will not talk to her in a hospital she would not be working in if her mother had not died and made her feel guilty for moving to Boston, (Sounds like Meredith).
As the patients all appear to be doing well. Derek and Mark share a moment where Mark is trying to get Derek to have a drink with him. He is telling him that he came to Seattle for Derek and not just for Addison. he missed his friendship and wanted it back. derek was not overly convinced but it did seem sincere.
In the locker room the interns were talking to george in awe about the delivery. Lexie chimes in to mae it sound all the more impressive. George recognizes that they want to hear everythinghe has to say so he talks and they enjoy his story.
On her way out of the hospital Meredith is called to by Lexie. A second later she is called to by Derek. She has to choose which way to turn and she chooses Derek not willing to deal with so big a change as Lexie.
They end up in a linen closet where Meredith tells Derek that it is over and that they have grown apart. He is ready to agree it seems but he strokes her face and hair as so to give her a good bye kiss and it was a passionate kiss so they started to have sex.
Meanwhile George has ended up at the house to see Izzie and tell her that he loves her too.
