Buffy The Vampire Slayer
It was well wrote for a horror, teen type show. I got hooked and can watch them (Buffy & the spin off Angel) over and over again.
It's kinda a tie between:
The X-Files
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Angel
The Shield
for most of the runs. They got a bit off track sometimes (especially the last few seasons of the X-Files) but overall were enjoyable. I know Buffy was good because my girlfriend, who HATES shows like these, couldn't stop watching it.
For the three all time favorites (couldn't choose just one):
Babylon 5
Farscape
Battlestar Galactica
Farscape has the edge here but all three are damn good. Why are these 7 my favorite (and tied for all time favorite)? Writing and characterization. Its interesting that all 7 series were/are not on the Big Three.
