This happened starting with Liz (Jill's mother who raised her) told her that she was not her biological mother - Liz was going in for the removal of a tumor on her brain (if I remember correctly). Anyway around the same time Katherine was having dreams of a baby crying and would wake up to try to find the source. During the course of all this, Katherine remembered being friends with a woman while she was going through her alcoholic binges and while her first husband was away on extended business trips in Europe she and the worman would go out to the bars and at some point Katerine hooked up with a man and had his baby. She gave the child away to her friend "Charlotte" who was suppose to take it to a hospital to find a home for her. She actually gave the child to Liz's husband and they raised Jill as their own.
Jill confronts Katherine when she finds out and they are in a battle once again. See the complete history at the site identified below.
