As long as "pseudo reality" shows are accepted as entertainment, the networks can churn them out cheaper than "proper entertainment", and continue to cash in on the average viewing publics ignorance.

its all action edited to look exciting, and absolutely NO storyline other than sex, murder, vampires or nudity.
TV in the 50s and 60s was incredible and I still DVR all that I can off satellite.
The movies from the 40s and 50s are spectacular and deep and they expand the characters excellently.

YES - it's hardly worth having a TV in your home. i think i am not going to renew TV this year and read some books instead.
What was it with the perfume adverts this Xmas, in every one there was nudity or sexual intentions? that does not make me want to buy it?
the soaps are all boring, there is no thought put into anything anymore.
It's a race to be more shocking, more violent, sexier, and some the strangest crimes, cases or plots. Some are still good quality, but it is a reach to believe these things happen in real life.
