she was already exploited.. he probly wanted to help her.. it seems no one else does, they just want to make fun and criticize, how do they expect her to get help and change her ways if people are always judging her..
He should have kept his mouth shut and said *nothing* to the media.

I think that he does this for his show, not to help her.
When he first began, his heart was in it and he really wanted to help people. I'm afraid he fell in that trap that too many fell in, it's called stardom! Sad for he is good in what he does but now he is blinded by glory!
As for Brittany, she needs help now or she will lose.

Phil McGraw violated the ethical guidelines for a psychologist. He should be reprimanded. Personally, I think Dr. Phil is a goofball.
Dr. Phil has set himself up as some kind of know it all guru. He sticks his nose in where it doesnt belong. No psychiatrist in our hospital would even think of doing that. I lost all respect for him.
