Not really. They only show certain things that happen in their lives. It is filmed over a long period of time. On the episodes not everything is placed in their realistic order. This makes it more dramatic supposedly. Also I heard that they have set meeting times for the cast members to come together and talk. They tell them what to talk about and they film it. Some of the show is even scripted now. They want it to be more dramatic and entertaining. Have you ever noticed how they only show scenes that have to do with the main theme of the episode? They leave out of ton of stuff in the cast's lives. Don't you think that they have other friends than just the ones that have appeared on the show? And also they never show Lauren (from The Hills) at school. In some of the early seasons, they showed her there a couple of times, but not in the recent seasons. In an interview, Heidi (from The Hills) said that if they are filming and someone walks in front of the camera they have to start the scene over again. They pick and choose what they want to use. It's like taking your life and just using the drama and glamour on a show, even though there is alot more to your life than drama and glamour.

not at all

Yes there reality show. Some things are set-up and planned out, but they dont give them a script to read. they need to plan the camera angles and stuff...so we can follow the story and know whats going on. They plan ahead when to film to make the show interesting. it doesnt matter if its not 100 percent real, its just for entertainment who cares. I love the hills...cause its based on 20-somethings....i dont like laguna or maui fever because those are based on immature teens.

Most of them are fake no matter what they say. There's no way those shows can be 100% real. They prob aren't even based on those people's lives, like they claim.

it's quasi real, but to film it there has to be a schedule and then it is editted like crazy

Partially scripted.

They seem pretty staged to me.

They are not real.

They are all fake.

I think they are all staged, and the people are told what they should talk about and where they should go. I don't know why people go along with it.

not at all.its just the way they film it,Seems more real then a movie, but its fake, fake, its like a soap opera put filmed better

yeahh they are. they dont have scripts or anything altough some is planned out

they are the filming fits in cuz its reality if its like different than actuallity its kinda hard for me to explain. sorry

Their real. The filming technique is based on hard work and a whole lot of editing.

It's kind of like The Real World or Run's House. The cameramen follow them a lot so they get used to tuning them out. I'm from Laguna and the location and everything was real. But they do a lot of re-enactments to 'improve' on the 'real' scene.

Um. Some people say that Laguna Beach was real. The drama and friends were real, but they were told what to do and where to meet up and when.

So I guess it was really fake. ^_^

yes there true i live right next to laguna have seen the kid in the show at the beach

their only like 25% real, like in The Hills if they mess up on a scene they re-do it. It's fake brain washing crap for american teens of todays day in age. It's SAD. seriously who cares about other peoples lives, not to mention that they dont' even know you or care about you, although people love them. How pathetic, people should worry about their own lives.

IT'S BULLSIHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I consider them fake.

Yes, unfortunately. These kinds of shows do not appeal to me at all.
