Question: What has happened to the actor playing Jim, in real life? How come he has been out of the show so long? His character is quality! Guessing something not good as they arent bring him back for ages!

he has had a stroke in real life.
he has been having heart problems and has had a slight stroke and his gp has told him he has been doing to much he is taking a break for a while, but will be back in summer

i believe the actual actor had a heart attack so they had to take him out for a while. not sure that he's coming abck. i suppose thats why the storylines going on for so long.
