Y&R Watchers..When did Victor and Hope meet?!
Question: I have only been watching Y&R for a couple of years now, so I don't remember Hope being around. I know when Nick went missing in the plane crash that Victor was off trying to find Vic Jr. So, when did Victor and Hope meet, what's their story? And why wouldn't Vic know he was named after Victor?

Victor ran off many years ago when he thought that his family was against him once again. He drove off in his car, which was car-jacked and went over a cliff (I believe). The thief was wearing Victor's gold bracelet and everyone thought that it was Victor because the body was burned beyond recognition.
He was in farm country and ended up at Hope's farm, where she was being attacked by her farm hand. Victor fought him off and tended to her until she recuperated. He fell in love with both her and the lifestyle, married her and brought her back to Genoa City.
Nikki didn't know what to make of her. They couldn't really compete because Hope was blind and didn't care for the money and lifestyle. When Victor Jr. was born, Hope did not want him embracing Victor's cutthroat business ways, so they left town, and went back to the farm. She and Victor did agree that their son would not know who his birth father was.
I think that Victor has provided for him in his will, but don't quote me on that.
Here goes: About 10 years ago, Victor went off by car to "find himself". He was in a crisis of some sort. (can't remember if it was a Nicki crisis or work related). He has car trouble in the middle of Kansas or Iowa and goes to the nearest farmhouse where he happens upon a young woman about to get assaulted. (Hope) Of couse he saves her and beats up the bad guys.
He then tends to her injuries and realizes she is blind. From there a relationship begins with Victor living on and helping her with the farm. (the farmhands were the ones that attacked her, so she is without help on her farm).
He stays there for quite a while, but then leaves to go back home. Hope then finds herself pregnant and has the child, Victor Jr. They both live on the farm and that is who he is referring to. Nikki and the whole family know all about him, and they have met both the child and Hope.
I coppied this off of another site. But it is correct to the best of my knowlege. I have been watching YnR since I was a toddler. I am pretty fuzzy with remember what happen so long ago though. Here is a site that has lots of different YnR related questions and answers.
I think Bradat26 has a more accurate account of what happen, I seem to remember that too.
there was a point in time when smtng happened to victor and every1 thought he was dead. he ended up in the town hope lives in and she took care of him and nursed him back to health. they fell in love, got married and she got pregnant. when he rembered who he was and wanted to go back to genoa city hope didnt like the lifestyle so they got divorced. that was in the early 90s.

Boutux and bradat are correct!!! But I have to add that after Hope returned to the farm, she got with her husband and Hope and her husband raised Victor Jr. without Victor Jr. knowing that Victor Sr. is his biological father... his name is just Victor but Hope and Victor (and all of us) refer to him as Victor Jr.
