Launch my carreir as a comedian..at 16?!
Question: Question Details: I'm a 16 year old living in N.y.c and I want to become a comedian. I love making people laugh. It feels good to me. I have NO clue on how to start. Sure i'm funny I guess but how do I write stand up comedy? Will comedy clubs accept 16 year olds? Are there much comedy clubs in n.y.c? What will it take to become big? Theres so much I have to know and do to begin. I already (kind of) know my style I do some observational humor with accouple of other comdy styles (I don't know the names of) mixed with acting like an idiot. Didn't help much I know.

dont worry right now about becomming big, get your act together ten talk to owners of comedy clubs or clubs holding comedy nights, tell them what youre up to and that you want to perform at their open nights. What you do is you perform for free for a while, then free but supporting someone not THAT famous, then maybe get paid a little bit of money to support- you have to build it up until you get lots fo fans of your comedy and you have a solid set, then one day you'll have an hour long show (that probably lasts an hour and 20 minutes even) and you'll be getting cash in hand for your great shows tat people will travel to see then tell their mates. maybe make it to montreal or edinburgh comedy festivals. Basically, N.Y.C? You're not in a bad place to start, just look for the right places.
