Maybe they are told not to. I like it better when they don't. I think it looks cheesy when they put their fingers up like that, as if they are begging for votes. Much better this way.

They look ridiculous when they do it. I just want to yell at the screen "stop it!". As someone said on a talk show one day, "if one of them puts up their fingers to signal the number or motions "call" by using the phone gesture - I won't vote for them". I feel the same way.
