Good writers cost the networks too much. If they can throw junk out there and keep their ratings up they will.
Reality shows are hilarious! They are pure comedy and entertainment, and almost always have me feeling extra good about my own life. I love reality television and I am glad it's here to stay!

They had a great, original show called "Jericho". It "only" had a couple million viewers, so CBS cancelled it (twice). Of course, they put it up against American Idol on Tuesdays...
Of course, I watch reality shows, too. The ones like Big Brother allow me to realize that I'm not near the most stupid person in the world, the ones like American Idol allow me to realize that there really are tone deaf people in the music biz, and the ones like America's Next Top Model allow me to realize that average looking ladies like myself are really more beautiful than the skinny, hateful stick-like girls they have on their show...
I think I watched maybe 20 minutes of a reality show once, and I was so offended by the back stabbing, manipulation, etc. I went to another channel. These shows are made because they are cheap to produce. I never understood why anybody got hooked on any of this trash! I agree with you on this one 100%!
I'm sorry to tell that reality TV is here to stay. just like the increase of gas prices it would never go back under $3.00 ever again
