What was the name of this educational entertainment science fiction series?!

Question: What was the name of this educational entertainment science fiction series!?
When I was an elementary student back in the 1980s, we were made to watch on a regular basis a television series which was intended to be "edutainment" for young children to learn how to use the Dewey Decimal system in a library and develop good research skills!. But what was so bizarre was the series was set against the backdrop of an apocalyptic post-nuclear future in which two alien races had invaded earth, one was "The Users" which was a friendly group, and "The Wasters" (or something to that effect, can't really remember) which was the antagonists!. The children and a lone librarian who traveled the decimated lands in a bookmobile had to learn how to use the library in order to research ways to defeat the Wasters!. Eventually, the series ended with the bad guy aliens just leaving!. It was cheesy to be sure but certainly extremely heavy material for young kids to deal with !.!.!. nuclear war, apocalypse !.!.!. WHAT ON EARTH WAS THIS SERIES!? Yes, I know it's crazy, but help me out!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
