Christian Bale probably

Micheal Keaton is the best Batman of all!

christian bale

i would have to say ..
christian bale.. he did an amazing part playing his character,, george clooney did a good job too but he could have been better thoug

1989 Michael Keaton
second choice 1966 Adam West

Christian Bale

Adam West is my top pick. He made the role his own!

Of all the "Film Batmans"... Michael Keaton made the most lasting impression on me. I had known his work as a stand up comedian and seen him in a few comedy roles. So when I heard he got the role as Batman I thought the film would be much like the TV show was. When the film came out I was blown away! He gave a breathtaking dramatic performance that really surprised me!

Michael Keaton, George Clooney, and Val Kilmer.

I'd have to say Michael Keaton, with Christian Bale a VERY close second. Adam West's portrayal was just too campy, and I'm not familiar with the first two. George Clooney is an awful actor who always plays himself, instead of playing a character (the lone exception being O' Brother Where Art Thou). Val Kilmer? Sorry - his performance just didn't cut it at all.

Keaton & Bale, both, were able to portray two different characters - Bruce Wayne and the superhero Batman. It's hard to immerse yourself in a superhero story when the secret-identity looks, acts and sounds EXACTLY like the superhero. You end up wondering why anyone wouldn't be able to immediately tell who they are. Keaton & Bale both used different body language and voices to portray the two different characters, and their acting was superb. They both showed how torn they were between their identities.

Keaton edges past Bale, though, in my opinion based solely on his maturity and age. Keaton was 38 when he played Batman, Bale was 31.

And even though you didn't ask, I think Chris O'Donnell was the best Robin.

Christian Bale.
