Question: Are there any secret messages in Pokemon names!?
I know for a fact there are backwards subliminal messages in a few Pokemon songs, but in my question, I'm talking about the names, like Charmander or Mewtwo!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

YES! There are definitely secrets!. Like, if you keep forgetting the order of the legendary birds, think of it this way!. Articuno has the Spanish number 1 in it, uno!. Zapdos has the spanish number 2 in it, dos!. Moltres has the Spanish number 3 in it, tres!. ArticUNO, ZapDOS, MolTRES!. also, Ekans spelled backwards spells snake, and Arbok backwards is kobra, but the real spelling is cobra!. I'm pretty sure there are others, too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Along with Arbok spelling "Cobra" backeards, Ekans means "snake" when you reverse the name!.
Generally most pokemon names are translations to english of what their names mean in Japanese!.
A very obvious example would be Pikachu (which is one of the few pokemon names that weren't englishified in the dub)!. Chu means mouse in Japanese and Pika I believe refers to an electricity preffix in japanese!. Pikachu in this sense kind of means electric mouse in Japanese!.
I'm quite sure people more fluent in Japanese will note other things (I'm not really familiar with the original pokemon names either as the mexican spanish dubbed was dubbed over the edited english version)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
