When a shinigami dies they are returned to the human world and continue living as a human(without any memories or powers they once had)!. once they die as a human they return to soul society(once again without any memories), become hollows, or are consumed by hollows!. They continue to do this until the soul is destroyed(consumed by hollow, killed as hollow by a quincy)!. It's basically a giant cycle of reincarnation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
