u need to transport the inmates across a lake in a boat
but u cant have
Two inmates alone or they will kill each other
and u canot have two inmates with one guard
But u can only fit two people two people in the boat
and u always have too have a driver
how do they get across??

Take one guard and one inmate first.
Leave the inmate on the other side, return with the guard.
Take another inmate, return to the other side, leave the guard with the previous inmate.
Return with the inmate and take a guard. Leave the guard on the other side (there are now two guards on one side, with one inmate, one guard and one inmate on the first side, and one inmate in the boat)
Take one guard with the inmate on the boat and leave the inmate on the other side. There are now two inmates and two guards on the other side, with one guard on the boat and one inmate on the first side.
Go back with the guard and take the last inmate. Take both to the other side.
Done.
