If 3 people rented a room for 30 dollars and the clerk said he?!
Question: over charged them $5 and gave the bell boy $5 to refund to the men and he didn't know how to divide 5 by 3 so he gave each man 1 dollar and kept the 2. Then each man paid $9 which means they paid 27 dollars and the bell boy kept 2 where is the other dollar????
Answers: over charged them $5 and gave the bell boy $5 to refund to the men and he didn't know how to divide 5 by 3 so he gave each man 1 dollar and kept the 2. Then each man paid $9 which means they paid 27 dollars and the bell boy kept 2 where is the other dollar????
three people rented room for 30 dollars = 30/3 = 10 p/p
Clerk accidentally charged people
Gives five dollars to bell boy = 30 -5 = 25
Bell boy keeps 2 dollars = 5-2 = 3
30-3=27 Each person pays 9 dollars
27-2=25 Bell boy keeps 2 dollars ---Mistake occurs(subtract instead of adding)
25+(2+3)= 30
in the elves secret lair along with that missing sock and my car keys!!!
i dunno
do you have hotel issues?
This is easy, in the end each man paid a total of $9 dollars for the room = $27. This includes the dollar they got back.
The bellboy kept $2. So then $27 - $2 = $25. The whole $30 thing dissappeared when the front desk paid a $5 refund. The number to get to is $25, not $30, the joke is flawed. Subtract not add. See?
i have no clue it's hard lol..umm lemme take a good guess out of it..hmm...the clerk?..the 3rd man..the bellboy?
25(paid)+3(given to the 3 men cuz its a dollar apiece)=28
and the bell boy had 2 dollars
“Nothing happened to the dollar. They each ended up paying $9 each for a total of $27. Plus the $3 they got back is a total of $30-it’s all there. They were supposed to pay $25 but they paid $27, which makes sense because the bellhop kept $2.
Charges: $25 for the room + $2 for the bellhop=$27 $30 initial charge - $3 refund = $27 Each paid $9 and $9 x 3 = $27
The trick is in the statement, “The three men had now paid $9 each, or a total of $27. This plus the $2 the bellhop kept for himself makes a total of $29.”
The $27 is the total payment and $2 is a cost, not a payment! It just happens to add up to $29 giving the illusion of a missing dollar.”
Argh not this again...
THERE IS NO OTHER DOLLAR.
they paid $30 but the room cost $25...soooo:
they each paid $9 for the room so $27 and this includes the dollar they got back each
and the bellboy kept $2
so $27-$2 = $25 ... which is what they paid for the room since the clerk returned them $5 from the $30 they initially paid
there is no other dollar
in the clerk's pocket...the room was only $27 to begin with...(i think)((they don't call me chaos for nothing you know))
After receiving $1 each they paid $9 each so the total should be $27 . Its correct for them (Not aware of $2 which is retained with the boy ) $27(Paid) + $3(With them ) = $30
It is foolish to sum $27 + $2 because they don't know about the $2 which is with the boy their effective rent is $9 each .(They already received $1 each)
the other dollar is up paris hiltons a$$ and around the corner!
I have heard this before and I have never been able to figure it out.
Must be in my back pocket, wait let me check.
hahaha, Clevar... You had me going for quite a while.
