Down the road was a piercing squeal of insanity. Something was up ahead that didn’t want to be disturbed. I ascended into the end of the tunnel where it was absolute darkness, to see a vague figure of a creature forlorn and abandoned drooling out of the corner of its mouth. Its eyes were fairly wide apart, giving me an eerie feeling inside; this was no human.
