Set in the late 1800s, this is the story of William Blake (Johnny Depp) who journeys from Cleveland to the West where he has been promised a job at the Dickinson Steel Works. Once there, he is told the position is no longer available. Out of money, Blake has a brief affair resulting in the murder of the son of the mill owner. Escaping his pursuers, Blake teams up with an Indian (Gary Farmer), and they embark on a strange odyssey together.
In 1969, Neil Young released his second solo album called Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. It opens with the methodical, hard-rocking "CINNAMON GIRL" (first track)--still one of the singer-songwriter's most-hollered requests in concert. Young's second solo album also introduces the cockeyed harmonies and sloppy, chiming guitars of Crazy Horse.
